Baby Boy Blue


Hello!! I noticed this week there are alot of challenges involving the word "New" for the New Year I guess, so I thought it would be fun to see how many I could do on this card! I used a new stamp that I've had for awhile and never used. It's by Inkadinkado. I cut out my image with the Label 4 nesties. I love the Label nesties but the sizes are so far apart for layering so for my brown layer I traced the die and cut it out by hand so that it would be a closer fit. To help hide my hand cutting I used my distressing tool on it and several of the other layers as well, to give it that worn look. I also sponged/distressed some brown ink on my DP layer as well. I wrapped some twine around it an added a button tied with some gingham ribbon. I added some pearls in the one corner to finish it off. I used a Quickutz folder on the bottom blue panel. I wish I had some of this same DP in Pink and Brown to make a little girl card but the pink version uses black instead and I'm not sure about a Pink & Black baby card??!!     I don't think this could be any cuter! I love the image and the pearls in the corner are a perfect touch. I think that it woule look great in pink and brown too and even if there is some black I am sure you could pull it off :D

    Congratulations on making the Top 5 at Cupcake Challenges.

    I did too and am all excited.

    Thought I would share what I do with nesties. I often cut around the inside line which is meant to be embossed and get a nice close mat that way. I know exactly what you mean about them being too widely spaced. I quite often do the above when I am on the largest die and there is no other size to mat onto. I wish they would make bigger ones.
