Winter Wonderland

Hello! The Ways to Use it challenge on SCS today was "Lets go Caroling"! I picked the song Winter Wonderland for my inspiration, that allowed me to use one of my favorite Christmas card color combo's Blue & White! I Love this tree stamp that is in the SU Lovely as a Tree set. It's so versatile you can use it for masculine, sympathy, and of course Christmas cards! I used 4 different snowflake punches and my CB snowflake folder. The tree panel is raised up with foam tape. I found the string beaded pearls in the Holiday ribbon section at M's last year along with the satin Blue ribbion that was in the $1 rack. Wish I would have bought more of that ribbon, it has gorgous silver strips in it. I was able to fit in alot of challenges on this card, a record for me "17"! I'm happy with how it turned out! Thanks for stopping by!

Poinsettia Watering Can

Hello! It's starting to look and feel like winter! We had 3+ inches of snow yesterday. It was Beautiful this morning with the trees all covered in snow. Love this kind of snow, it's to warm out to stick on the roads and it's gone in a day or so!
On to my card. I don't usually make square cards because I don't have any clear envelopes/sleeves to stick them in but I had this Beautiful Poinsettia image that I received from my friend Stacy over on SCS and it was to large for a normal A2 size card. The base of my card is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 Embossed card from DCVW. This is another multiple challenge card. I used the color challenge on Stamp TV. The colors were Red, Green, and Gold. I used the Sketch Saturday sketch # 80. The Creative Card Crew challenge this week was to make a Christmas card. The Incy Wincy Challenge is to use Red & Green and Rosie & Dee's challenge was Red, Green and a bit of Bling! I think it also fits the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge which was a CAS card this week. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

Lucky

Today I thought I'd share a photo that I took a couple of weeks ago while trying to photograph some of my cards. This is Lucky he is a spoiled rotten baby and likes to "help" me. It makes picture taking very interesting. I have to make sure there are no paws or a tail in my pictures! I may share more kitty photo's in the future as Lucky is one of many! They seem to have a way of finding me. Happy Thanksgiving!!

It's a Small World

I was supposed to go to Ephrata to L&L Rubber Stamps last week but my SIL couldn't get off work to go along with me so I just waited and went myself today. I was talking to another customer there and she said I looked familiar and wondered if I was on Stamp TV, I said yes!! She asked if I was Janice and again I said Yes! The funny thing is a couple of weeks ago on Stamp TV I was telling her, ma54k aka Mary Anne about L&L and gave her the address. What are the chances that we'd both show up there at the same time??!!! She is jumping on the Copic bandwagon and her DH was getting them for her for Christmas. I helped her pick out some of the basic must have colors, IMO. Can't wait to see the cards she makes with them! I've since heard that since her Birthday is on Thursday(Thanksgiving day) her DH said Happy Birthday and let her have them now!! How sweet is that?? Have fun Mary and Happy Birthday!!

Give Thanks

CSS Challenge hop

Welcome to our first Center Stage Spotlight Design Team Blog Hop!
Jessica Fick, the Design Team Coordinator for GinaK Designs has issued a challenge to all of the past and present team CSS team members to make a Christmas card with one of these sketches:

For my card I chose to use the embellished sketch. I used the Poinsettia from the "A year of flowers" set by Melanie Muchinger. I stamped the flower twice with Colorbox Chianti ink and embossed it with Ranger Holographic embossing powder. I cut out the center of one of the flowers and popped it up with some pop dots and added some gold pearls to the flower center. Wow does this flower ever sparkle! The sentiment is one that I masked off of the Very Merry Christmas set by Theresa Momber. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to visit all the blogs and leave comments along the way because the very generous Nina Brackett is going to be giving away the "Hip to be Square" set by Melanie Muchinger!!! She will be picking a random winner from one of the blogs and will post it on Saturday morning! Good Luck and Happy Bog hopping!

The High Hopes Challenge this week is "All about Kids" we were to use kid images or cards created with kids in mind. I always seem to need Kids Birthday cards so this was the perfect chance to make one. I seem to have the hardest time with "boy" cards, it so much easier to do frilly girl cards! I am happy with how this one turned out though. The colors are a little off in my photo, it's been so cloudy here all week. The polka dots DP is more green in real life. I popped the ballons up for some dimension. Thanks for stopping by!

Just Chillin'

Hello!! It's been rainy and dreary here in PA so I had to go with an indoor photo of my card today. I much prefer to take them outside in the natural light. For today's card I used the Sweet & Sassy Stamps sketch. I had the pleasure of meeting Korin Sutherland the owner of Sweet & Sassy Stamps the other week at my favorite stamp store L & L Rubber Stamps. My card is also for the ABC Challenge. This week it's the letter G and G is for Green. I may have went a little overboard with the green!! Sorta feels like a St. Patty's day card but I kinda like it! Last it's for the Incy Wincy Designs Challenge to use your favorite embellishment! I think I'd have to say my favorite embellishment to use is the half back pearls/rhinestones! I used some of the pearls in the centers of the snowflakes on the panel behind the snowman. I also used Crystal Snow on the card not sure how well that shows up in the photo. The snowman panel is raised up with foam tape. Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You

This card was made for the Ways to use it challenge on SCS. We were to "Say it with Pizzazz"! We were to jazz up our sentiments. I stamped my sentiment on ribbon and added 2 pearls. It is also for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge to make a thinking of you or praying for you card. I really like this stamp, you can color it in either spring/summer colors or for fall! I added flower soft to the flower center and cut out and popped up the butterfly. Thanks for looking!

Gina K preview ~ Lord of the Season

I'm honored to be participating in the September new release for Gina K Designs as one of the Center Stage Spotlight designers! The set that I am previewing tonight is by Nina Brackett and is called Lord of the Season. This is such a great set and can be used all year round!

For my first card I used the Fruit wreath topiary. I went with fall colors on this one but I think it would also be great done up for Christmas!

For my second card I used the Butterfly Topiary tree. I masked off the butterflies and turned it into a Christmas Topiary . I Love how versitile this set is! I used Flower Soft on the tree and sponged around the image while it was still in the die. I really like the vintage feel of this card.

I hope you have enjoyed my sneak peaks! There will be more sneak peaks all week followed up by the big release party over on Splitcoast Stampers on Thursday night 7-10 CST. Hope to see you there!

Their scripture this week is Ecclesiastes 3:1, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." (NIV) This is one of my favorite passages.

Signs of Autumn

Today's card is for the color challenge on Stamp TV and for the sketch challenge on Stampin Sisters in Christ. Gina K is the sponser of the challenge this week. I really like the sketch but I didn't have any small square envelopes so I made my card A2 in size. I just got this K&Company DP yesterday at M's and when I saw the new color's this week on Stamp TV I thought I could make it work. We were to use Pumpkin Spice, Apple Green, and Saffron(yellow) and the DP has all of those! The apple basket is softly sponged all the way around in yellow, I couldn't get that to pick up in my photos. It's much prettier in person. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
